It has been a while since my last blog post. No I’m not ignoring the blog, I have been out of the country on vacation for the past 3 weeks in snowy Denmark visiting my girlfriend’s family. The entire time I was there the ground was covered by a thick layer of snow. The flat Danish landscape was simply gorgeous under a thick layer of snow. Very christmassy.
The vacation itself was very slow paced and relaxing. I spent most of the time helping the family getting ready for Christmas. We did tons of baking, made lots chocolates, and even made a gingerbread house. Not a whole lot of tourist stuff since I have previously been to Denmark before and visited most of the tourist attractions in Copenhagen. My girlfriend’s family has 3 very lazy cats so that gave me tons of opportunities to practice my pet photography. Having done tons of portraiture work before the vacation it was a very welcoming change.
Having seen tons of my portrait works some members of my girlfriend’s family asked me to take some portraits for them while I was visiting. It was something I couldn’t quite refuse. So before the trip I packed the speedlite and the softbox fully knowing that I’d be taking some portraits. As it turned out I didn’t have a whole lot of time with my “models” and ended up spending about 15 minutes shooting per each of my subjects. The family members are thrilled how the pictures turned out, which is the most important thing. : )
